3 Tips to Organize Events in iPhoto Library

Last Updated :

iPhoto is a self contained application on Mac and it is useful to organize your event photos. You can use 3 tips to organize Events in your iPhoto Library i.e "Merge iPhoto Events", "Access All your Events information from one place" and "Change Meta Data from a group of Event Photos".

1. Merge iPhoto Events:

You can easily merge Events in iPhoto Library. If you want to merge iPhoto Events, then go to "iPhoto" and drag one Event into another one on the "Events" screen. Now, all the photos of both Events will combine and become a one larger event. You can drag and drop several events at the same time. When you merge iPhoto events into one, all the events you drag and drop lose their names and the newly created lager event will be the "target" event.

2. Access All Your Events Information from One Place:

If you want to get a detailed information about any Event, then click "Info" button located at the bottom of the iPhoto window. You can also get an information by selecting the Event and pressing "Command+I" button. When you click on "Info" button, you will get the number of photos the event has, the date range and places where they were taken, the event description, the known "Faces" and more. Here "Faces" is the iPhotos's face recognition system which filters your photos separating them by the different faces it finds in them.

3. Change Meta Data from a group of Event Photos:

This is the most useful feature of iPhoto. It allows you to gain a lot of control over your photo library and let you know how to organize it in better and in simple way. This let you know how to add or edit the information of large groups of photos in your photo library. if you add or edit this information to your photos, then they become very easy to search or filter.

If you want to add or edit the information to a group of event's photos, then open an event and select the photos which you want to work with. Click "Photos" tab from the menu bar and select "Batch Change..." option. Here you can change the title of your group of photos, add a date to all of them and write a description for the entire group.

PicBackMan does exactly what it's supposed to. It's quick and efficient. It runs unobtrusively in the background and has done an excellent job of uploading more than 300GB of photos to 2 different services. After having lost a lot of personal memories to a hard drive crash, it's nice to know that my photos are safe in 2 different places.

LOVE this program! Works better than ANY other program out there that I have found to upload thousands of pictures WITH SUB-FOLDERS to SmugMug! Thank you so much for what you do! :) #happycustomer

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
