Last Updated :If you have lot of photos on your iPhone and you want to get them onto your Mac to edit, browse and send them to friends, then you have several options such as iPhoto and Photo Stream. You can easily transfer photos without needing a third party apps. You can also simply email your photos from an iPhone as attachments.
Following are the steps to Get Off Your iPhone and on to Your Mac using iPhoto:
- Connect your iPhone to your Mac using the USB cable that came with your iPhone.
- Open "iPhoto". If it doesn't open automatically, open it from the Finder.
- Click on your iPhone located in the left side panel under "Devices".
- Here you can choose whether you want to split events for each day or not, and also enter an event name.
- Select the photos you want to import.
- Click "Import Photos" button to import all photos, Or click "Import Selected" button to import one or more photos.
- It will ask you to "Delete Photos on your iPhone?".
- Click "Delete Photos" button.
- Your photos should now appear inside the event you named, as well as in the "Last Import" album.

I pointed PicBackMan at a directory structure, and next time I looked - all the photos had uploaded! Pretty cool. I use SmugMug and while I really like it, the process of creating directories in is pretty laborious when you need to make 80+ at a time. This was a breeze. Thank you!
