Last Updated :There are lots of ways you can backup photos from iPhone to iPad. One such method is via the Photo Stream App. Photo Stream is a feature available to iCloud users: It automatically syncs images you take across all your devices. But, in order to backup old photos from iPhone to iPad, follow the process given below:
- Enable photo sharing on both the iPhone and iPad. In order to share photos using Photo Stream, you'll need to enable photo sharing on both the iPhone and the iPad.
- Open the Settings app on your iPhone.
- Tap the "iCloud" option.
- Select "Photos".
- Toggle "iCloud Photo Sharing" ON.
- Repeat the same process on your iPad. - Open the Photos app on your iPhone. You can use Photo Stream to share specific pictures with your iPad. This is especially useful if you have more than one existing picture that you want to transfer to your iPad.
- Tap the "Shared" tab at the bottom of the screen. If this opens the Activity window, tap "< Sharing" to return to the main Sharing screen.
- Tap "+" to create a new Photo Stream. You will be prompted to create a name for the album. Hit "Next" when you're finished.
- Enter the people you want to share with. If you are only sharing the photos with yourself, leave the fields empty and tap "Create".
- Tap the new Photo Stream to open it. Your newly-created photo stream will appear in the list, but it won't have anything in it yet. Tap it to start adding pictures.
- Tap the "+" button to select a picture to add. You can select multiple pictures at once by tapping each one to add a checkmark to it. Once you are satisfied with your selection, tap Done.
- Enter a description (optional). You'll be prompted to enter a description for the shared photos after selecting them. You can leave this blank and tap "Post" if you don't need a description.
- Access the photos from your iPad. Once you've posted the pictures, they'll be uploaded to iCloud (as long as your iPhone is connected to a wireless network). You'll be able to access them from the iPad in just a few moments.
- Open the Photos app on your iPad.
- Tap the "Shared" tab at the bottom of the screen. If you don't see the Shared tab, you didn't enable iCloud Photo Sharing in your iPad's Settings menu.
- Tap the Photo Stream that you just created. It may take a moment for all of the pictures in the Photo Stream to download. - Save the photo to your iPad. Pictures shared through your Photo Stream will not actually be stored on the iPad, and will disappear if they are deleted on the iPhone. If you want to keep a photo from the Photo Stream on your iPad, you'll need to save it to your iPad's storage.
- Open the photo from the Photo Stream that you want to save.
- Tap the "Share" button. This looks like a box with an arrow coming out of the top.
- Select "Save Image" or "Save to Camera Roll".
