Picasa is a free photo management program that can be used to organize and edit your photos. You can easily backup photos from your Mac to Picasa web with Google+ Auto Backup. The Google+ auto Backup feature allows you to automatically backup photos to Google+ from your Mac. Google integrated Picasa web Albums into Google+. So, if you access Picasa Web Albums then you will automatically get directed to Google+. If you want to use Picasa Web Albums, then click go to the old website.
2. Picasa offers you 3 options to download your photos.
a) You can download individual photos.
b) You can download multiple selected photos from the album.
c) You can download the entire album.
a) If you want to download the individual photos, select the photo from the album. Your photo will open in bigger size. Click "More" button located at top of the window & select "Download photo" option. Your browser prompts you to save .zip file, then click "Save" and specify a location to download. The downloaded zip file will contain the photo from the album.
b) If you want to download multiple selected photos from the album, select the photos which you want to download from the album. A checkmark will appear on each selection. Click "More" button located at top of the window & select "Download photo" option. Your browser prompts you to save .zip file, then click "Save" and specify a location to download. The downloaded zip file will contain the multiple selected photos from the album.
c) If you want to download the entire album, click "Dropdown arrow" located on the right side of the window, next to "Share" button. Your browser prompts you to save .zip file, then click "Save" and specify a location to download. The downloaded zip file will contain all the photos from the album.
3. Select any ('a' or 'b' or 'c') one of the options listed above.
